India Helps Nationals in Ukraine by Setting up a Control Room
In light of the current scenario in Ukraine above its concerns with Russia, India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has opened up a control room to offer information and help to Indian nationals there. In addition, the Indian Embassy throughout Ukraine has established a 24-hour helpline for Indians, particularly in the eastern European country.
According to PTI, the Indian Embassy throughout Kyiv has already received calls concerning the non-availability of airlines from Ukraine to India but has advised Indians not to worry but rather to schedule the quickest available and comfortable ticket home.
“The Embassy of India has received several appeals about non-availability of flights from Ukraine to India. In this regard, students are advised not to resort to panic but book the earliest available and convenient flights to travel to India,” quoted the embassy statement.
It went on to say that flights from Ukraine are now operated by Ukrainian International Airlines, Fly Dubai, Air Arabia, and Qatar Airways, among others. “To meet the additional demand, more flights are being planned shortly, including from Ukrainian International Airlines, Air India, etc. Details on the same would be shared by the Embassy as and when confirmed.”
In light of the current scenario in Ukraine due to tensions with Russia, India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has established a control room to offer data and help to Indian nationals there. The Indian Embassy throughout Ukraine has also established a 24-hour hotline for Indians living in the eastern European country.
In light of the current situation’s uncertainty, the Embassy recommended Indian individuals, particularly students, to temporarily exit the country while advising Indian nationals to prevent all non-essential travel to and then within Ukraine.
